Stale Popcorn is the brainchild of Keith W. Cunningham and Ryan King.  As the banner says it’s a web comic about movie theaters, their employees, the customers, and the wacky shared adventures they all have together.

The series takes place in and around the Zoetrope Theatre in the fictional town of Green Lawn, Ohio (not to be confused with the cemetery in Columbus).  It’s an independently owned twelve screen multiplex run by Abner Harper (he’s old school).  The theater struggles to maintain its integrity in the face of a game that is becoming more and more corporate every day.

In the wake of Abner’s shocking death the crew of the theater is dealing with a lot of changes.  The day-to-day operations of the theater are being handled by Abner’s children, Eddy and Erin, but the threat of the business failing looms in the future.

Truth is stranger, and often funnier, than fiction.  Some of the events portrayed in this comic are inspired by Keith’s experiences working as a film projectionist.
